Nurofen survey reveals the ‘growing pains’ of children and teens
A Nurofen-funded survey has revealed the pains and emotional challenges faced by children aged 7-15, manufacturer Reckitt Benckiser (RB) has said.
The OnePoll survey – which received 2,000 responses, 1,000 of whom were from children – found that 48% of “tweens” aged 7-11 find growing up “scary at times”.
The survey, which ran between October 31 and November 5 last year, also found that more than half of those aged 12-15 feel under pressure at school due to homework, while nearly half worry about global issues such as climate change, RB said.
Almost a quarter of parents said their children find syrups too childish, while 40% said their children struggle to swallow pain relief tablets.
Nurofen senior brand manager Marcella Christophersen said: “Recognising the pain relief needs of this age group, we have recently launched two products to help overcome some of these practical challenges.”
The products are Nurofen for Children 200mg/5ml oral suspension, which is available in orange and strawberry flavours, and Nurofen Meltlets 200mg Orodispersible Tablets, available in orange and mint.
The products retail at £5.99 and £3.99 respectively.
