Medicines adherence pack manufacturer Omnicell has launched a campaign to raise awareness of medicines waste.

The Let’s Take Care of It campaign, which launched last week, includes a report by Omnicell that calls on pharmacists and GPs to engage with patients about this issue.

A survey of more than 2,000 adults, carried out by Omnicell in July and August, showed that only a third of people would take unused prescription medication to their local pharmacy, the manufacturer added.

The company is asking pharmacists and the public to read the report and pledge to improve medicines adherence at letstakecareofit.com/pledge.
