Medicines adherence pack manufacturer Omnicell has merged with its two other UK businesses.

Omnicell consolidated its Surgichem and MTS Medication Technologies businesses and relocated them to a “state-of-the-art” Manchester headquarters at the start of the month, it said.

Its current medicines adherence products – sold under the Easyblist and Nomad brands – would be rebranded under the name “SureMed by Omnicell” over the coming months and would receive a “new visual identity”, the manufacturer said.

The move would allow the business to take advantage of Manchester’s “strong talent pool” and “reinforce its heritage as a leading provider [of] adherence packaging”, Onmicell claimed.

UK and Ireland managing director Paul O’Hanlon said the merger would “not only benefit our employees, but enable us to provide an altogether better service to pharmacies – and ultimately patients”, he added.
