Omnicell UK and Rowlands launch medicine adherence campaign
Medication management company Omnicell UK and Rowlands Pharmacy have launched a medication adherence campaign today (July 3).
The ‘Let’s Take Care of It’ campaign takes place over National Medication Adherence Week – which runs this week (July 3-9) – and aims to address this issue.
The campaign is supported by educational leaflets and posters in Rowlands pharmacies, Omnicell said.
Omnicell described non-adherence to medication as “a major health issue facing the UK”. According to a survey of 131 Rowlands employees released last month (June 20), 93% believe patients do not understand the impact of non-adherence, it said.
Omnicell UK managing director Paul O’Hanlon said the company is “delighted to be partnering with Rowlands Pharmacy”, and “would welcome the opportunity of working with other pharmacies”.
“All major chronic illnesses require effective adherence and medication management – without which people won’t get better and, at worst, their health may even deteriorate,” Mr O’Hanlon said.
