Paydens has taken part in “everything from bake sales to sponsored runs” to raise money for the charity’s support services for patients and for research to find better treatments and a cure for Parkinson’s, it said earlier this week (July 6)

The pharmacy group first partnered with Parkinson’s UK in 2018, when it rolled out a Parkinson’s-specific medicines use review, allowing pharmacy teams to “support people with Parkinson’s to better understand and manage their medication”, and has since raised £100,275 for the charity . The group’s founder, chairman Dennis Pay, was diagnosed with Parkinson’s in 2008.

Managing director Alexander Pay said on Monday (July 6) that he is “so proud” of Paydens’ teams for “coming together to fundraise for Parkinson’s UK”.

“We want to say a heartfelt thank you to them and our customers for their ongoing support,” he added.

Parkinson’s UK’s chief executive Steve Ford said the charity is “thrilled that Paydens employees have raised this incredible amount for Parkinson’s UK”, and that they have “continued their efforts even during this difficult time”.

“Support from Paydens helps us provide vital services to the Parkinson’s community right across the UK, whether that’s our helpline, tailored online exercise classes or making sure people who normally receive face-to-face support continue to do so in new ways,” he added.
