Perrigo targets short-haul travellers with Jungle Formula campaign
Perrigo is launching an advertising campaign to promote its insect repellent Jungle Formula range to travellers on short-haul journeys.
The campaign – running from June 1 to the end of August – will include “online visuals” linking to a Jungle Formula website, Perrigo said.
The manufacturer has also created strategy guidelines for pharmacy teams to boost their insect repellent sales. These include listing repellents alongside sun care products, which has “helped increase sales” of both for other retailers, it claimed.
Another strategy is for pharmacy staff to talk to patients looking for holiday products, to remind them that they require protection, Perrigo said.
The manufacturer will also provide materials to be used on pharmacy counters, it said.
Head of marketing for ‘get well’ brands Laure de Brauer claimed: “Travellers are as likely to be bitten in Europe as they are in a long-haul destination.”
“It is more important than ever that consumers are aware of the need to purchase an insect repellent before they make a short-haul journey,” she added.
Prices range from £6.99 for roll-on Jungle Formula Maximum to £9.99 for the aerosol version.
