Pharmacist Support launches TEAMGreen fundraising campaign
Charity Pharmacist Support is launching its annual fundraising campaign on September 25 to raise money to allow it to continue supporting pharmacists and their families.
The annual campaign, which launched in 2016 and has this year been rebranded from GoGreen to TEAMGreen, will run from World Pharmacists Day on September 25 to October 3. Its aim is to “bring the pharmacy community together to raise much needed funds to help more individuals”, Pharmacist Support said in a statement on its website.
Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, much of the charity’s usual fundraising initiatives “have not been able to go ahead”, it said.
Danielle Hunt, chief executive of Pharmacist Support, said the charity is “having to find new ways to deliver [its] support to ensure that the people who need [it] are not cut off from help when they need it most”.
Pharmacist Support is also “having to find new ways to engage donors and generate income that don’t rely on face-to-face activities, large scale events or gatherings,” she added.
Ms Hunt stressed that the pandemic has “impacted our pharmacy family on the front line”, and that the charity has “worked hard over the past six months” to ensure no one in its “pharmacy family” has to face challenging times without its support.
The services offered free of charge by Pharmacist support include financial help, employment and benefits advice, addiction support, a stress helpline, an information service and a wellbeing service.
Pharmacy teams can help to fundraise by setting up a fundraising page or organising events such as bake sales, quizzes or wellbeing days with colleagues or local pharmacy groups, “if it is safe and feasible”, to do so the charity said. A range of free resources are available to on the Pharmacist Support website.
