The app consists of a database of information for the 100 drugs agreed by academics as being most useful for students to have a working knowledge of before they begin their pre-registration year.

A free version with 25 drugs is available to download on Android or Apple, to enable users to test the product. The full version can then be purchased for £2.99.

David Wright, professor of pharmacy practice at the University of East Anglia, initiated the project and said he is “delighted” so many schools wanted to help create an app that will make graduates “more confident” when undertaking their pre-reg year.

“We also think it will help them prepare for their pre-reg exam,” he added.
