IT Zone Internet and mail-order pharmacy business Pharmacy2U has launched an automated phone prescription service in a bid to drive efficiency and survive the changes "being forced upon community pharmacy"
Internet and mail-order pharmacy business Pharmacy2U has launched an automated phone prescription service, allowing patients to request repeat prescriptions by telephone at any time.
The service would suit patients with chronic conditions who are on several medications, as well as those who preferred placing orders by phone rather than online, Pharmacy2U said.

The system would give patients an alternative to ordering their medicines online or calling the customer care team, and introducing another automated option could deliver business efficiencies, it added. "With the majority of our patients already choosing to interact with us by phone, it makes sense to find a way to give them more choice in how they do so," said Pharmacy2U managing director Daniel Lee. "With so many changes being forced upon community pharmacy, it is imperative that businesses look to improve efficiencies, and we're happy that we've found a way to do so that also delivers value to our patients." |
IT suppliers roll out upgraded MUR systemsThe service is available to all Pharmacy2U customers. Patients enter their customer details and can then access their personal account and request medicines from their existing repeats list.
