Acidex Advance is an oral suspension that forms a protective layer at the top of the stomach to prevent acid entering the oesophagus, the Ireland-based manufacturer said.

The product will be available in aniseed and peppermint flavours from all major wholesalers and on prescription, Pinewood Healthcare said.

Acidex Advance has an NHS list price of £2.21 for 250ml and £4.42 for 500ml.
