Police Scotland is appealing for witnesses after a Lanarkshire pharmacy was robbed at knifepoint.
 
Prescription medication and £200 in cash were stolen at around 7.20pm last Saturday (January 10) from a Lloydspharmacy on North Road in Bellshill, by a thief who threatened counter staff with a large kitchen knife, Police Scotland said last week (January 13).
 
Detective constable David Lamont said the woman working behind the counter had "thankfully" not been hurt during the robbery, although she had found it a “very frightening experience”.

Lloydspharmacy told C+D it was offering support to members of staff present at the time of the robbery and to the wider pharmacy team. The pharmacy had reopened to the public the day after the incident, it added.

Police Scotland said the suspect was described as around 30 years old, 5’ 11” and slim. On the evening of the robbery he was wearing light coloured jeans, a navy blue or grey Berghaus jacket with the hood up and was carrying a white and green Lloyds bag.

DC Lamont said "a number of witnesses saw the man heading along Keith Street and onto Croftpark Street" and asked anyone in the area at the time who saw a man fitting the suspect's description to call Wishaw CID on 101. Witnesses could alternatively call Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111, he added.
