Price drop for ‘savvy’ customers

GSK expects its price-marked packs of Sensodyne toothpaste to drive pharmacy sales.

New packs of Sensodyne Daily Care toothpaste, which launched this month, advertise that they are now £3 and should provide pharmacists with a “great platform to boost oral health sales”, GSK said.

The packs normally retail for £3.89 and the price drop would entice “extremely price-savvy” customers, GSK said.

“Not only will this encourage category growth, but it will also encourage [patients with sensitive teeth] to purchase a specialist product at a cost-effective price, while increasing basket value for pharmacy,” said Sensodyne senior brand manager Hannah Gentleman.

“We know shoppers seek advice from trusted healthcare professionals such as pharmacists. Therefore it is vital for pharmacies to stock a full range of products to address oral health problems and provide it at a value-added price,” she added.
