Printing error prompts MHRA withdrawal of Natzon batches

Practice A printing error has prompted the medicines watchdog to recall two batches of Natzon because of fears that up to 300 packs may contain a different drug

The MHRA has recalled two batches of drug abuse treatmet Natzon, because of concerns that up to 300 packs may contain a different drug.

A printing error may mean that batches 13D22 and 13D24 of Natzon sublingual tablets 0.4mg packs may contain buprenorphine 8mg sublingual tablets, which is also used to treat drug abuse, the MHRA announced yesterday (September 26).

So far two packs have been identified but a maximum of 300 packs may be affected, it said.

Patients should return the affected packs to their pharmacy, clinic or dispensing doctor for a replacement, the MHRA said.
