PSNC calls for views on EPS

The negotiator is encouraging pharmacists to complete an HSCIC survey on how problems with the electronic prescription service are dealt with by suppliers

PSNC has urged pharmacists to share their views on problems with the electronic prescription service (EPS).

On Friday (April 10), PSNC directed pharmacists to a survey by the Health and Social Care Information Centre (HSCIC) designed to gather views on how EPS issues are handled.

HSCIC told healthcare professionals that it had launched the online survey on March 19 to “understand your views about incidents which could affect the smooth running of EPS”. This would help it improve the service, it said.

As part of the survey, pharmacists are asked to rate how well issues are dealt with by system suppliers and how quickly they are notified about national faults. At the end of the survey, pharmacists also have the option to register for a workshop to provide “more detailed feedback” about EPS.

Pharmacists have until April 30 to complete the survey, which can be accessed here.

On the same day that PSNC directed pharmacists to the survey, C+D reported that pharmacies around the country were having problems with IT system provider Cegedim, which left them unable to download electronic scripts for three days.
