PSNC has launched an LPC Resource on Public Health to sit alongside the public health white paper, Healthy Lives, Healthy People and its accompanying evidence base, as well as the recently published Drugs Strategy and the 2011/12 NHS Operating Framework. PSNC said the LPC Resource on Public Health will assist LPC's in taking advantage of opportunities outlined in the white paper, which include tackling drug and alcohol abuse, increasing uptake of seasonal flu vaccination, screening including NHS Health Checks and the prevention of long term illnessThe resource will help LPCs engage with local commissioners, in particular PCTs, local authorities and councillors, and will focus on the main public health challenges highlighted in the White Paper.
