Rob Darracott replaced as CCA chief executive
Former NPA director of pharmacy Nanette Kerr will replace Mr Darracott, who will continue as Pharmacy Voice chief executive
Rob Darracott has been replaced as chief executive of the Company Chemists’ Association (CCA) as it splits its executive team from Pharmacy Voice.
The CCA – which represents nine multiple pharmacies including Rowlands, Boots and Tesco – has appointed a separate team led by former National Pharmacy Association (NPA) director of pharmacy Nanette Kerr, it announced today (September 1).
Mr Darracott was appointed as CCA chief executive in 2007. He will continue his almost five-year tenure as chief executive of Pharmacy Voice, which will continue to represent the CCA as well as the NPA and the Association of Independent Multiple Pharmacies (AIMp), the organisations stressed.
Ms Kerr, who freelances as managing director of pharmacy consultancy company Ashurst Management Consultancy, said creating separate executive teams for the CCA and Pharmacy Voice will allow both organisations to “deliver more”. “The time is right for us to both grow,” she said.
Mr Darracott said Pharmacy Voice has “come a long way” since it was founded in 2010. “Recent highlights include successfully influencing summary care records rollout and taking the lead in focusing on patient safety,” he said.
As well as holding the position of NPA director of pharmacy from 2010 to 2011, Ms Kerr was also head of professional services development at Boots UK from 2007 to 2009. She will be supported in her new role by Deirdre Doogan, who has transferred from Pharmacy Voice to become CCA policy and planning manager for England and Scotland.
