Available in 2mg/ml and 4mg/ml since March 1, the product is the first licensed oral liquid Omeprazole, having previously only been available as an unlicensed special, Rosemont said.

Omeprazole can be used to treat conditions such as reflux oesophagitis and stomach ulcers in adults.

The product is also uniquely indicated in babies from one month old for treating conditions such as heartburn and reflux oesophagitis.

Omeprazole contains no ethanol, sugar or propylene glycol and the 2mg/ml strength includes a natural vanilla flavour “to improve palatability for infants”, the manufacturer added.
