RPS considers sale of Lambeth headquarters
The Royal Pharmaceutical Society (RPS) is considering selling its Lambeth headquarters as part of its ongoing effort to "improve efficiency and cost-effectiveness".
The RPS has instructed property consultancy firm Capita Symonds to gauge potential interest in its premises on 1 Lambeth High Street – its home since the 1970s.

The RPS said in a statement that the potential move was part of a "continuous review" of its running costs to ensure every pound of members' money was used "as effectively as possible". "As part of this commitment and after a review of our operational and building needs, we have looked at the premises we occupy," the RPS said. Options including the possible sale were being "looked at". The RPS could not reveal details such as its target selling price or the savings it would look to make from an office move. |
RPS faces £2.5m income loss as GPhC moves outThe society also declined to comment on how the plans could affect the General Pharmaceutical Council (GPhC), which shares the Lambeth premises, but the regulator announced its plans to stay in the building until 2014 at a council meeting earlier this month.
In February last year, C+D revealed that the GPhC was set to pay almost £2.5 million for rent and services to the RPS in 2011-12.
