RPSGB calls up 15 staff for CPD review

The RPSGB has called up 15 of its own staff members to submit CPD records under the call and review programme, C+D can exclusively reveal.

All RPSGB employees called so far had met minimum record keeping standards, the RPSGB said. The RPSGB refused to name the individuals involved for confidentiality reasons.

However, RPSGB president Steve Churton told C+D he was not among those asked to submit CPD.

The RPSGB said it had not specifically targeted staff members for review. Those called to demonstrate CPD would have been selected at random, the RPSGB stressed.

An RPSGB spokesperson added: “We are not aware of any members of staff being referred to fitness to practise for non-compliance.”

The comments follow a C+D request under the Freedom of Information Act for details of RPSGB CPD reviews on internal staff.

Almost 8,500 pharmacists and technicians have been asked to submit CPD since call and review launched last July.

The scheme gives pharmacists six weeks to produce CPD entries for each of the past five years and registrants must show at least  nine entries a year from March 2009.
