HYLO NIGHT helps relieve the symptoms of dry eye through providing moisturisation throughout the night and keeping eyelids feeling smooth, Scope Eyecare said.

The product – which is preservative and phosphate free – contains vitamin A, liquid paraffin, light liquid paraffin, wool fat and white soft paraffin.

Patients apply the ointment in the gap between the eye and the eyelid for up to six hours of lubrication, the manufacturer said.

One 5g tube of HYLO NIGHT is priced on the drug tariff at £2.75.
