Scottish MP backs pharmacy hearing campaign
Scottish MP Fiona McLeod has backed a poster campaign run by Community Pharmacy Scotland and the charity Action on Hearing Loss Scotland encouraging local people to regularly get their hearing checked.
Ms McLeod visited Forbes Chemist in Bishopbriggs to learn more about the campaign that is on display in more than 1,200 pharmacies across Scotland.
The campaign comes after Action on Hearing Loss Scotland held a number of deaf awareness sessions with pharmacists throughout Scotland, looking at how best to communicate with people who are deaf or hard of hearing.
Community Pharmacy Scotland chair Martin Green said: "Community pharmacies are the most accessible point of contact in the modern NHS, with 600,000 people passing through their doors each day. We are hoping that this poster campaign will be a bug success and encourage our patients to take the check."
