Staff 'shaken' after Doncaster armed robbery
Two female members of staff were left shaken after a man walked into a McGill Pharmacy branch on Hexthorpe Road, Doncaster and threatened them with a knife and a syringe at around 9am yesterday
Staff at a Doncaster pharmacy have returned to work with a "stiff upper lip" after being threatened by an armed robber.
Two female members of staff were left shaken after a man walked into a McGill Pharmacy branch on Hexthorpe Road, Doncaster, and threatened them with a knife and a syringe at around 9am yesterday (April 16).
The man demanded money and drugs and left the pharmacy on foot with a "quantity" of cash and prescription medication, South Yorkshire police said. The women, aged 34 and 45, were "shaken" but uninjured by the incident, police said.

McGill Pharmacy operations manager Phil Clarkson told C+D the following day that both staff members were back at work and the team had been "stiff upper-lipped". The branch had not experienced a similar incident before, Mr Clarkson said. |
Police described the robber as between five feet six inches and five feet seven inches tall, wearing a black motorcycle helmet with "something underneath covering his face". He also wore a green "combat-style" jacket and trousers, they added.
They called on witnesses or anyone with information to contact South Yorkshire Police on 101 and quote incident number 203. The public could also call Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
