Clinical Podcast: Providing cognitive behavioural therapy

Rural pharmacist Sion Llewelyn tells C+D how he implemented a CBT service in his pharmacy

This clinical podcast examines cognitive behavioural therapy (CBT) in an effort to better understand this treatment, which is recommended by the National Institute for health and Clinical Excellence (Nice) for depression and anxiety.

C+D spoke to Sion Llewelyn of Rowlands pharmacy in Bala, Wales, to discover more about this treatment.

Mr Llewelyn discusses how he introduced a pharmacy-based computerised CBT programme to help local patients who lack alternative ways to access to this treatment for their depression or anxiety.

The service won the C+D award for pharmacy innovation of the year in 2012.

Last year, over 2,500 pharmacy professionals fulfilled their CPD through Update Plus. Find out more here.
