Valneva appoints new pharmacy service development manager
Valneva UK has appointed a new pharmacy service development manager, who will be tasked with introducing travel health services into pharmacies across the UK.
Fiona Caplan-Dean – formerly commercial services manager for Rowlands Pharmacy – has over 25 years’ experience in the sector and an “impressive track record of introducing new pharmacy services”, the vaccine manufacturer said.
She will be introducing travel services across pharmacies as part of the Valneva in Partnership programme (VIP), which includes “tools, assets and resources to support pharmacies” in offering these services, it said.
Ms Caplan-Dean's recent successes include the introduction of the Rowlands pharmacy flu jab service, as well as the roll-out of travel vaccination and anti-malarial services across 500 pharmacies, Valneva said.
Graham Thoms, head of commercial operations for Valneva UK, Ireland and Southern Europe, said the company is “delighted” to welcome Ms Caplan-Dean.
“As one of the most talented pharmacy services professionals in the UK, Fiona’s drive and extensive experience will be invaluable in ensuring the VIP programme successfully delivers on providing greater access to comprehensive health services that travellers desperately need,” Mr Thoms said.
