Revealed: pre-reg employers using the new recruitment scheme
Health Education England (HEE) has revealed the 270 community pharmacy employers signed up to its new centralised recruitment scheme for pre-registration students.
Contractors have so far confirmed 1,384 posts they wish to advertise via the scheme in time for the August 2017 application process, HEE told C+D on Tuesday (February 7).
Two-thirds of employers – 181 – are based in London and the south east, with 14 pharmacies in Wales also signed up.
When the scheme was first proposed last year, HEE told C+D that Wales had “not yet made a decision how they will recruit in 2017”.
The list of employers includes Lloydspharmacy and Boots, both of which confirmed to C+D last month that they had committed almost 600 pre-reg posts to the scheme between them.
More than 700 hospital employers have also signed up to the recruitment scheme, HEE said.
However, “these numbers are subject to change and will be confirmed before the system goes live”, it stressed.
