Alliance's two 'biggest concerns' with hub-and-spoke model


Alliance Healthcare managing director Jeremy Main discusses the challenges – and benefits – of expanding hub-and-spoke dispensing

Mr Main spoke with C+D exclusively on Wednesday (August 31) to discuss the future of the hub-and-spoke model.

A C+D investigation in July revealed that Boots and Lloydspharmacy told ministers last year that it was "too early" to press ahead with government plans to widen the use of hub-and-spoke dispensing.

My biggest concern if I used Alliance would be them not delivering it on time. They can't seem to consistently manage NWOS and OTC. Anytime a butterfly beats it's wings in space it seems to affect their delivery.

I wonder how Hub and Spoke will affect Alliance's business. I can imagine it being quite scary for them considering it could theoretically devastate their income.
