Will the cuts affect pharmacists' care to cancer patients?

Exclusive

Local professional network (LPN) pharmacy chair for London Ash Soni tells C+D that community pharmacists need incentives to help with the prevention, diagnosis and management of cancer.

C+D clinical editor Kristoffer Stewart interviewed Mr Soni at an event on the development of cancer immunotherapies at the Royal Society in London last week (January 10).

Mr Soni stressed that community pharmacy has a "potentially huge role" to play in informing and supporting patients taking medication for cancer.

He warned that the funding cut in England will put pharmacists under pressure to "do the things [they] have to do" with less money, meaning there may be fewer incentives for giving additional clinical advice.
