Omnicell launches new automated dispensing system
Medication management company Omnicell has introduced a new generation of automated dispensing systems to improve hospitals' “efficiency, safety and flexibility”.
Omnicell XT Automated Medication Dispensing Cabinet, which launched on January 17, aims to help hospital pharmacy and nursing staff “optimise inventory, minimise stockouts and reduce missed doses”, Omnicell said.
The new systems will also “fully meet” the minimum GS1 barcoding standards which are due to come into force in 2019-20, it added.
The new XT cabinets include metal locking lid drawers; supports wireless accessories and has a ‘guiding lights’ feature to help direct users to selected medicines, Omnicell said.
They are also compatible with current Omnicell G3/G4 cabinet infrastructure, it stressed.
