Robbers armed with baseball bats and a bread knife threatened staff at a pharmacy in County Antrim, the Police Service of Northern Ireland (PSNI) has said.

Two thieves entered the pharmacy, which did not wished to be named, on Antrim Road, Glengormley at around 4.45pm on Friday (January 23), PSNI said. They threatened staff before "making off" with cash stolen from the till, it said.

The men were both described as around 5' 3" tall, PSNI said on Tuesday (January 27). One wore a black jacket, dark bottoms and dark trainers, while the other wore a cream cap, black tracksuit bottoms and covered his face with a red and white scarf, it said.

Detectives were investigating the incident and anyone with information relating to the robbery should contact Newtownabbey CID on the non-emergency number 101, it added.

Earlier this month, the NPA's representative for Scotland branded a spate of break-ins in pharmacies across the country as "troubling".
