The Future of Pharmacy Summit and Exhibition
Community pharmacies play an important role in the maintenance of public health, providing convenient and reliable services to the community. In 2015, 978.3 million items were dispensed by community pharmacies, according to national statistics from the Health and Social Care Information Centre. This figure represents 92.1% of all items dispensed in the community, including digital prescribing services. The 2013 Royal Pharmaceutical Society report Now or Never: Shaping Pharmacy for the Future suggests, however, that the traditional model of care provided by community pharmacies must be revised if they are to remain in this prominent role. Changing healthcare models, austerity measures and advancements in pharmaceutical technology provide the opportunity for pharmacies to revolutionise the way they provide care for the community. This will allow pharmacists to have a more direct role in patient care.
Join us for The Future of Pharmacy Conference, where high level speakers will discuss the opportunities that the changing care models of community pharmacies offers to the sector. Topics covered will include changing government legislation, the opportunity for greater involvement in primary care, and the role of technology in transforming pharmacy provisions.
