Superdrug teams up with DrThom for sexual health service
Superdrug has launched a new online sexual health service in collaboration with DrThom, the online doctor service acquired by Lloydspharmacy last month.
The service enables patients to access prescription-only medicines for certain conditions, after consultation with an online doctor. Patients are charged for the consultation and for any medicines required.
The Superdrug service will offer chlamydia and gonorrhoea tests, alongside treatments, repeat prescriptions for the contraceptive pill and antibiotics to treat cystitis.
A Superdrug spokesperson told C+D that it would be focusing on these conditions initially, but would talk to customers about services they might want in the future.
Loydspharmacy acquired the online doctor service DrThom from the company's founding directors last month.
The Lloydspharmacy Online Doctor service has run in conjunction with DrThom since 2008 and covers a range of conditions including erectile dysfunction, contraception and smoking cessation services.
