Church & Dwight recalls Sterimar Isotonic 100ml nasal spray over contamination fears
Product recall MHRA receives warning over two batches of the saline nasal spray
Manufacturer Church & Dwight has recalled its saline nasal spray Sterimar Isotonic 100ml following warnings about a possible bacterial contamination.
The Medicines and Healthcare products Regulatory Agency (MHRA) received the warning about the bacterial infection in two batches of the spray, which is commonly used to cleanse the nasal passage.
The affected batches are FE1248b and FE1249. The batch number can be found on the product packaging and on the base of the can.

MHRA promises action on dispensing errors The bacteria should not affect healthy people, but those who suffer from existing sinus or nasal problems, have recently undergone surgery or have a weakened immune system may be at risk.
The possible symptoms exhibited can be nasal or facial tenderness, discoloured mucus or a fever.
If consumers have any of the affected batches, they should stop using the product immediately and return it to the retailer, and if any of the symptoms appear, then they should consult a healthcare professional.
