Medical devices provider Astra Tech HealthCare changed its name to Wellspect HealthCare on August 31.

The name change follows Dentsply International's acquisition of the urology and surgery specialists, and will not result in "any immediate changes" to the product portfolio, including LoFric catheters. The new name will appear on all products over the "next couple of months".

Wellspect HealthCare stressed that the new name would not affect "any aspect of product quality".

"Changing the name represents a renewed focus and a strong commitment to our strategy and the business model that we have built over the years," said group president Svenn Poulsen.
