C+D talks Call to Action in Twitter chat

Practice C+D, together with Pharmacy Voice's Rob Darracott, is hosting a Twitter chat on Call to Action on Friday February 28 at 2pm. Share your views and make sure your voice is heard

C+D will be asking what the Call to Action consultation means for pharmacists during a Twitter chat on Friday.

The news team will be hosting the debate from 2pm on Friday (February 28) and will be joined by Pharmacy Voice chief executive Rob Darracott to discuss what pharmacists should include in their responses.

Pharmacists are being asked for their views on how they can contribute to care outside of hospitals in the consultation, which runs until March 18 and will inform NHS England's wider primary care strategy.

They can also submit views on how the sector can manage patients with long-term conditions, support the public with healthy living advice and improve efficiencies across the health system.

Engage in ‘Call to Action' to feed into contract, says NHS chief

England's chief pharmaceutical officer Keith Ridge has called for pharmacists to use the consultation to help NHS England decide if there are too many pharmacies in some areas. His deputy Claire Howard has said the Call to Action is "critical" to improve the pharmacy contract, while hospital pharmacists and GPs have labelled it a "huge opportunity" to integrate pharmacy with the wider health service.

Do you agree that this is the right direction for pharmacy? Tell us your views by taking part in the live Twitter chat. You can join us at www.twitter.com or via your twitter app from 2pm on Friday – search for #CTAPharm on the "discover" button.

C+D is also running a series of polls on its website in conjunction with Pharmacy Voice over the next four weeks to understand what readers would like the consultation to achieve. The representative group will then use this feedback to inform its own response to the consultation.
