Oral Soothe and Sore Throat 0.15% w/v Mouthwash contains the active ingredient benzydamine hydrochloride and is aimed at helping consumers to treat mouth and throat pain, according to the manufacturer.

The mouthwash has a pleasant-tasting mint flavour, and it can specifically be used to help with relief of pain caused by a variety of medical issues – including dental surgery, tonsillitis, gum disease, mouth ulcers and other mouth and throat conditions, Manx Healthcare explained.

Brand director Andrew Hawken said the mouthwash “has been developed to provide the consumer and pharmacist with an effective and commercially attractive alternative to add to their therapeutic offering”.

The mouthwash is both an over-the-counter product and a pharmacy (P) medicine, but it will be available in pharmacies only, a spokesperson for the manufacturer explained.
