PharmaDoctor launches COVID-19 travel test kits
PharmaDoctor has launched two COVID-19 test kits for travellers who are required to take them.
Launched last week (January 17), the COVID-19 “Fit to Fly” and Day 2 Lateral Flow test kits are exclusively available to buy via pharmacies, PharmaDoctor said.
Travellers can activate and perform the tests at home and upload their test result to the PharmaDoctor patient portal.
The PharmaDoctor medical team then reviews the test result remotely and provides the required test certificates direct to the traveller, including an internationally accepted “Fit to Fly” certificate, PharmaDoctor explained.
The company decided to launch the kits after it carried out market research revealing that more than half of respondents would prefer to buy their COVID-19 tests required for travelling abroad direct from their local pharmacy.
Pharmacists can order their kits – which cost £8.99 per kit – by logging into their usual PharmaDoctor account.
Commenting on the launch of the tests, PharmaDoctor innovation director Joaquim Pereira said that “every UK pharmacy can now offer their customers reasonably priced tests for their trip abroad without the need for a time-consuming consultation with the pharmacist”.
