Pharmacy teams ‘uniquely’ placed to offer advice alongside heartburn products, GSK says
Pharmacists and their teams can support those suffering from heartburn and acid reflux with advice and products, Nexium Control manufacturer GSK has said.
Nexium Control – which contains the active ingredient esomeprazole – is a short-term treatment for reflux symptoms, including heartburn and acid regurgitation, in adults, GSK explained.
Citing 2022 research from NielsenIQ, Nexium Control is Great Britain’s leading 24-hour heartburn protection product, the manufacturer claimed, but pharmacy teams can provide more effective treatment for patients by providing advice alongside the product, GSK said.
“Pharmacy teams play an important role in frontline management of frequent heartburn…on account of their unique and trusted position,” GSK expert marketing executive for Nexium Control Devika Dileepkumar said.
GSK “recognises that we have a responsibility to continue providing pharmacists and their teams with the support and guidance to help their patients in providing long-lasting protection for frequent heartburn”, Ms Dileepkumar added.
