Former Well superintendent Janice Perkins joins locum booking company
Well Pharmacy’s former superintendent pharmacist Janice Perkins has joined locum booking company LocumBell as an independent non-executive director.
Ms Perkins joined the company on Monday (July 11), after officially leaving Well Pharmacy in June last year.
She is LocumBell’s first non-executive director, but the company is looking to “make further appointments…as [it] looks to offer software services to various healthcare disciplines”, it announced on LinkedIn.
The company pledges to use technology to “bring businesses and locums together”, allowing pharmacies to post locum shifts and enabling locums to book and manage shifts without having to go through an agency.
“New ways of working”
With various workforce challenges across the NHS, “it is imperative employers are open to new ways of working and use technology to make this attractive and manageable for people who want to work in the space”, LocumBell told C+D.
“Leaders like Janice can strategically help us to bring [locums and employers] together through education and support.”
Ms Perkins said she is “delighted” to join LocumBell as a non-executive director.
“I hope to use my knowledge of community pharmacy and wider healthcare to help the team at LocumBell further develop their product range,” she added.
Outside of LocumBell, Ms Perkins is a consultant and remains the chair of the Royal Pharmaceutical Society’s community pharmacy expert advisory group.
