Kamsons partners with Gophr to offer courier delivery service

Kamsons Pharmacy has partnered with the courier delivery service Gophr to offer deliveries across the UK when the multiple’s delivery drivers need additional cover.

Gophr drivers, who offer a same-day delivery service, will deliver goods from Kamsons branches to patient homes across the pharmacy’s 70-strong estate.

The move will allow Kamsons to continue offering a localised delivery service for patients, even when the pharmacy has a lack of adequate driver cover, the chain told C+D.

It follows a successful trial at Kamsons’ Brighton premises earlier this year, C+D understands.

Gophr also works with online pharmacy Phlo and at-home rapid testing provider Qured.

Kamsons: Partnership “gives us peace of mind”

Paul Antenen, operations manager at Kamsons Pharmacy, told C+D yesterday (July 28) that chain's free delivery service “is a key part of our customer offer” and “enables us to maintain the high level of service that our customers are used to”.

Its partnership with Gophr will allow Kamsons to “cover not just pre-planned driver holidays but also last-minute short-term gaps… particularly with COVID-19 absences on the rise again”, he added.

It follows high-profile Deliveroo partnerships at Lloydspharmacy and Boots.

Last month, Boots vowed to investigate after a video of a Deliveroo driver handing a patient an open bag of medicines and mocking her for its contents was shared on social media.
