Across both days of The Pharmacy Show earlier this week in Birmingham, C+D spoke to the community pharmacy sector to get their latest opinions on the big questions.

We hear the latest on what the 2026/26 contract predictions are, with the PDA’s director of pharmacy Jay Badenhorst explaining what role he’d like for the PDA to have in the negotiations.

The NPA chair Olivier Picard updates us on whether the association will pursue collective action if the next funding deal is not good enough.

Pharmacy owners and Independent Pharmacy Contractors Network (IPCN) members Rifat Asghar-Hussain and Dervis Gurol discuss if they have confidence in the NHS 10-year health plan along with the University of Oxford Centre for Research Equity director Mahendra Patel.

The Independent Pharmacies Association (IPA) chief executive Leyla Hannbeck chats about who out of Labour or the Conservatives has helped the sector more.

Brabners solicitor and pharmacist Thorrun Govind gives her thoughts on current pharmacy minister Stephen Kinnock’s performance so far.

C+D also spoke to local pharmaceutical committee (LPC) chiefs or North East London, Shilpa Shah, and Cornwall, Nick Kaye.

Elsewhere at The Pharmacy Show, C+D sat down with CPE’s Janet Morrison for an exclusive video interview on funding, whether anything less than a 19% uplift on the next contract would be a failure, and if the £517,787 spent on consultants was good value for money for CPE.

And C+D caught up with our Political Pills columnist Steve Brine at The Pharmacy Show to talk NHSE abolition, the community pharmacy contract, and what else Kinnock needs to do to keep “delivering”.

You can see some of the community pharmacy sector’s leaders and workers answer some quickfire questions at The Pharmacy Show on our Instagram channel.
