Centrally located in London, just a ten-minute walk from the shining panels of the Shard, Qrystal Pharmacy has been sold to husband-and-wife duo Manisha and Shrikant Galande.

The first-time buyers purchased the property from Asif Qureshi, who decided to sell as part of his retirement plans after 15 years of ownership.

Situated on Borough’s bustling high street in the heart of Zone 1, the pharmacy dispenses an average of 5,500 items each month and has its own private travel clinic. It also provides services such as flu jabs and NHS blood pressure checks and boasts basement treatment rooms providing scope to deliver additional services.

The pharmacy was acquired through Christie & Co with funding was sourced through Raj Patel at Christie Finance who called the transaction “the start of an exciting growth journey” for the couple.

A trio of pharmacies has been given a second chance after being bought out of administration by business partner brothers Jaspal and Ricky Rahania of RJR Chem Ltd.

Westminster Park Pharmacy and Owens Chemist located in Chester and A Karims Pharmacy in Walsall had all recently closed their doors with FRP Advisory being appointed as administrator in September 2026.

Director and head of pharmacy at Christie & Co Jonathan Board said the property brokers were “very happy to have facilitated this transaction, ensuring that these much-needed community pharmacies are reopened to the patients and communities who rely on them, as quickly as possible”.

“This deal with Jas and Ricky Rahania continues to demonstrate the resilience of the UK pharmacy sector and the opportunities for growth for well-capitalised purchasers,” he added.

Lumley Pharmacy

Lumley Pharmacy, a dispensing heavyweight located in Great Lumley, County Durham, is the 11th pharmacy to be acquired by experienced group operator Sri Kanaparthy.

A mid-terraced property on a busy shopping parade, the pharmacy dispenses an average of 15,550 items every month, delivers prescriptions to around 30 patients each day and operates the monitored dosage system service for approximately 220 patients.

The business also provides blood pressure monitoring, emergency contraception, drug misuse, Pharmacy First and New Medicine services.

Its former owner Kim Gamble purchased the premises in 2022 and said “after many years of running busy community pharmacies, I felt the time was right to take a step back and have a little more balance in my life, while continuing to own and work within my other pharmacy”.

New owner Kanaparthy called Lumley Pharmacy “a great fit for our group” and said, “we look forward to transforming this pharmacy for what would be fit for the decades to come.”

The sale was directed by Karl Clezy at Christie & Co, who said he was “confident” the pharmacy would attract buyer interest due to its high dispensing average and location.

“Demand for northeast pharmacies remains high and deals are being agreed after less than a month on the market,” he added.
