Officers arrested a man in Pembroke, Wales, after they found “close to 600 cannabis plants” at a pharmacy last week (October 18), Dyfed-Powys Police told C+D.
The police force today confirmed that it executed a warrant under the Misuse of Drugs Act at the “old pharmacy building” on Main Street in Pembroke.
During the raid, the cannabis plants were found and a 27-year-old-man was arrested “on suspicion of being concerned in the production of Class B drugs”, it said.

Police named the arrested man as Amarildo Daja, of no fixed abode, who pleaded guilty at Swansea Magistrates Court the next day to the charges.
The force added that he “was remanded in custody to appear at Swansea Crown Court on November 8 2024 for sentencing”.
As the investigation continues, Dyfed-Powys Police said that “residents will see increased police activity in the area”.

It comes after a pharmacy technician was suspended for 10 months in August after being found guilty of smuggling cannabis, a sim card and three memory cards “in her cleavage” into a prison when visiting an inmate who “pressurised” her.
In March, a pharmacist received a nine-month suspension by the General Pharmaceutical Council (GPhC) as a his “last chance” to show his remediation four years after he was convicted of possessing a “£10” bag of cannabis.
