Boots has unveiled a one-stop health section combining pharmacy, audiology care and optometry as part of refurbishments to its Derby store.
The company announced last week that the “new-look healthcare area” in the store at Derbion Shopping Centre showcases its “One Health” concept, which it told C+D “aims to bring together all of the healthcare units at Boots”.
It said the section unites “over 30 healthcare services” including Pharmacy First, Boots’ in-store weight loss treatment service, and its health MOT, which offers free blood pressure checks to over-40s.

Boots added that the “One Health” space “covers over 400 square metres”, and allows customers “to easily and conveniently access the breadth of services on offer”.
It said the Derby store also has a variety of healthcare experts available, including pharmacists, Boots Macmillan information pharmacists, optometrists, audiologists and health ambassadors.
And it is home to a Bupa in-store GP service that offers “pay-as-you-go services”, such as cervical cancer screening, men’s sexual health plans and period and menopause support.

“Seamless experience”
Boots’ chief healthcare officer Jamie Kerruish said the “new reimagined healthcare space” is “a brilliant example of our One Health concept – providing customers with a seamless experience across our full healthcare offering”.
“In addition to a broad range of products and services, customers can also access advice, diagnosis and treatment for a range of healthcare concerns easily and accessibly on the high street,” he added.

It comes after Boots in February debuted health MOT pop-ups across the country “to make expert health advice more accessible than ever”.
And it follows the health and beauty giant launching a pilot in-person weight loss service, available in 17 stores, which included “an appointment in a private consultation room” with a pharmacist independent prescriber.
