According to Tesco’s website, seven of the pharmacies have already shut their doors, and C+D understands that the eighth will close in mid-August with its last day of business falling on the 16th.
All of the branches are in southeast England, with one in Essex and the rest in London.
C+D approached Tesco for comment, but it did not respond.
It comes after a spokesperson for the supermarket chain told C+D in February that “following a comprehensive review”, it took the “difficult decision” to close a small number of pharmacies “in line with customer demand”.

Meanwhile, the supermarket chain previously announced in April 2023 that it was closing eight of its in-store pharmacies just months after it had first mooted the idea.
The eight locations were all 100-hour pharmacies and the “difficult decision” to close them was made because “the branches [were] not seeing sufficient customer demand to sustain their long opening hours”, Tesco said at the time.
