Paydens has announced a “new strategic partnership” with Lagardère Travel Retail to open a pharmacy at Heathrow Terminal 2 “early” next summer.
The travel pharmacy will be “seamlessly integrated” into Lagardère’s “Relay store”, allowing travellers to access “prescription medicines supervised by a qualified Paydens pharmacist”, it revealed last week (November 14).

Shoppers will be able to buy a “wide range” of health and beauty products, “combining the convenience of travel retail with the reassurance of professional care”, it said.
And it added that Paydens – which operates 86 pharmacies – will also supply pharmacy and health and beauty products to the other three Relay stores in the terminal.
“Expert-led pharmacy services”
Paydens managing director Alexander Pay said that the group is “delighted to establish this partnership” at Heathrow.
The travel pharmacy will “deliver a seamless blend of retail convenience and essential expert-led pharmacy services for the global traveller,” he said.
And Pay added that by “leveraging” the pharmacy’s “wholesale capacity” through Sangers (Maidstone) Ltd, the group is “committed to ensuring every passenger has easy access to everything they need for their health and well-being while passing through one of the world’s busiest airports”.

Lagardère Travel Retail UK & Ireland chief executive Peter Newbould said that the partnership with Paydens reflects the company’s strategy to “build strong relationships with trusted local partners who share [its] focus on quality, service and innovation”.
“Together, we will bring travellers a new convenient way to access pharmacy and wellness products at Heathrow,” he added.

It comes after Paydens announced the rollout of a private prescribing service in March that allows patients to access same-day care “without needing to see their GP” for £15 per consultation.
And the pharmacy partnered with alcohol harm charity Drinkaware in February to roll out a free “drinking check” in 128 of its stores in southeast England to “assess” the drinking habits of customers.
Meanwhile, Well Pharmacy announced in August 2020 that it was opening a branch in the WH Smith store at Heathrow Terminal 2 – with another opening in Birmingham airport earlier this year.
