Novo Nordisk has slashed the price of three GLP-1 drugs, effective from January 1, 2027.
It said it formed part of “concerted efforts from Novo Nordisk to improve patient access to Wegovy and Ozempic”.
It announced “reductions of approximately 50% and 35% for Wegovy and Ozempic, respectively, from the current list price”, which will apply “to all doses of these medicines”.
“The lower list price is intended to connect more people with our innovative medicines,” said Novo Nordisk’s executive VP of US operations, Jamey Millar.

The latest salvo in the lively GLP-1 market comes after Eli-Lilly hiked their UK list prices of Mounjaro, in August last year, to “address pricing inconsistencies compared to other developed countries, including in Europe”.
Earlier this month, Novo Nordisk sued a digital health platform, Hims & Hers, for “allegedly ‘unlawfully’ mass compounding ‘unsafe’ and ‘knock-off’ versions of its semaglutide weight loss drugs”.
The lawsuit filed on February 9 warned that by “mass marketing unapproved versions” of Wegovy and Ozempic in the US, the company is “deceiving patients and putting their health at risk”.
