The DH in Northern Ireland is “seeking to appoint” three council members to join the Pharmaceutical Society of Northern Ireland, it announced last week.
Applicants must “demonstrate that they are registered as a pharmaceutical chemist or druggist or are eligible to register and commit to doing so if appointed”, it said.
According to the department, the positions will offer “an exceptional opportunity” for registrants to “play a key role in helping to shape and drive delivery of essential health and social care services”.

The PSNI said that the roles require a “minimum” commitment of “12 days per annum”.
And it noted that remuneration will be offered to those who fill the positions, explaining that registrants will be paid £120 for training and induction days.
Attendance at meetings of “up to four hours” will see remuneration of £120 and for meetings over four hours remuneration will be £240, it added.
The deadline for applications is March 26 at 12 noon, the PSNI said.

It comes after the PSNI launched its “corporate strategy” for 2025-2030 last month to help the body “transform and modernise” and keep up with the changing landscape of the pharmacy sector.
In a joint statement from the PSNI president Dr Geraldine O’Hare and chief executive Canice Ward, the pair predicated that the strategy will “begin a new chapter in the development and transformation journey” of the society.
Meanwhile, the Northern Irish pharmacy regulator launched its new “code of conduct, ethics and performance” in January to set out the “professional standards” expects of all pharmacists.
