Boots UK’s pharmacy revenue decreased by 0.4% for the year ending August 31 2025, the health and beauty giant’s accounts have revealed.

“Comparable stores” are those that have been “open for at least twelve months without closure for seven or more consecutive days” and “without major remodel or being subject to a natural disaster in the past twelve months”, it noted.

The growth in comparable pharmacy revenue was “mainly driven” by NHS Advanced services such as Pharmacy First and Boots Online Doctor, which the company said “more than offset declines in state-funded income”.

And it noted that its pharmacy revenue “is impacted by quarterly government adjustments to medicine reimbursement prices via the National Drug Tariffs to ensure sector delivery of agreed contractual procurement margin within the year”.

Meanwhile, Boots UK’s overall post-tax profit for 2024/25 was £261m, a £50m increase on the previous year, while its total revenue increased by 3.2% to £7.54bn.
