Pharmacist Sean Clarke has secured a “significant six-figure investment…to support the acquisition of Normans Pharmacy in Liverpool”, investor River Capital yesterday (October 31) announced.

The fund management company added that Clarke will use the undisclosed figure alongside personal investment to purchase the pharmacy located on Walton Road in Liverpool.

A “highly qualified pharmacist with 14 years of experience”, former area manager for McKeevers Chemists and owner and director of SPC Care Limited, Clarke has “plans to transform Normans Pharmacy into a hub of modern healthcare services”, River Capital said.

The investment will support “the retention of five existing jobs and creation of two new positions over the loan term”, as well as Pharmacy First “participation” and “innovations around electronic medication administration records (eMAR) for care homes”, it added.

“Additionally, the pharmacy will expand its operating hours to include Saturdays, enhancing accessibility for the local community,” it said, as well as implementing “modern online platforms for private services” such as travel vaccines and “aesthetic products”.

“Realise our vision”

Commenting on the investment, which was made through the North West business growth loan fund, Clarke said he was “excited to build on the pharmacy’s existing foundation and introduce new services that will significantly benefit the local community”.

“This investment from River Capital is crucial in helping us realise our vision for Normans Pharmacy,” he added.

River Capital investment manager Jim Moore said that the company is “delighted to support Clarke and SPC Care Limited in this acquisition”.
