Pearl Chemist has partnered with food delivery service Just Eat to offer “fast and convenient delivery of a wide range of pharmacy products” to customers.
This “strategic alliance” will allow Pearl Chemist customers across south London and Surrey to order “over-the-counter (OTC) medications, personal care items and other health and wellness products” through the Just Eat app or website.
The partnership was yesterday (October 7) announced by the “digital network of pharmacies” LUDA Partners, whose technology is behind the collaboration.

Not only will it enable “rapid delivery” of OTC medicines, but it will also provide a “valuable service” for those who may be unable to visit the pharmacy in person or who require “urgent access” to pharmacy products, it said.
And it added that the move “promises to enhance convenience and accessibility to essential healthcare items for the local community”.
Family-run Pearl Chemist – which operates 27 pharmacies – is “driving digital innovation to enhance customer experience and broaden its market leadership in the British pharmaceutical sector”, LUDA Partners said.
“Speed and convenience”
Pearl Chemist superintendent pharmacist Mayank Patel said that the group is “committed to serving” local communities and “making healthcare more accessible”.
Partnering with Just Eat allows it “to bring essential pharmacy items directly to customers’ doorsteps with the speed and convenience they need”, he added.
And LUDA Partners co-founder Luis Martín said that the company is “proud to facilitate this innovative partnership between Pearl Chemist Group and Just Eat”.

It comes as Christie & Co’s annual market review – published yesterday - revealed that of “over 7,000 pharmacy professionals” surveyed by the business property adviser, only 1% used their pharmacy website for “selling a selection of OTC goods”.
It found that of those with a website, “45% said that they only use it for signposting”, meaning they were “potentially missing opportunities to increase income” through other sales or services.

But the document also highlighted that the group’s turnover grew to £61.2m in 2024, a 28% increase from the previous year.
